Baseball Game Preview: Newark Central Blue Devils vs. East Orange Campus Jaguars

The Newark Central Blue Devils will head out to square off against the East Orange Campus Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Newark Central fell victim to Newark Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Minutemen, falling 20-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, East Orange Campus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 19-4 to Newark Tech.

East Orange Campus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tiger Disla, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Elijah Hilton also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Newark Central dropped their record down to 3-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for East Orange Campus, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Newark Central suffered a grim 17-7 defeat to East Orange Campus when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
