Softball Preview: Seeger Patriots vs. South Vermillion Wildcats
Seeger is 2-8 against South Vermillion since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
Seeger is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Frontier 31-18 on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Patriots needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Meanwhile, South Vermillion got the win against North Vermillion last Tuesday by a conclusive 12-2. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Keagan Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rosie Travioli was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.
