Basketball Game Preview: Prospect Knights vs. Stevenson Patriots

Prospect has won three straight games at home, while Stevenson has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Prospect Knights will host the Stevenson Patriots at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Prospect strolled past Hersey with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. The win was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Huskies are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Stevenson didn't have too much trouble with Libertyville on Friday as they won 63-44.

Stevenson is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Prospect, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.

Prospect couldn't quite finish off Stevenson when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 43-40. Can Prospect avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
