Baseball Recap: Northern Adirondack Comes Up Short

Northern Adirondack dropped down to 5-6 on Sunday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Chazy Eagles by a score of 10-8. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Chazy, the victory got them back to even at 7-7. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

For Chazy's part, Aiden Howell made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Chazy is 3-1 when Howell allows three or fewer hits, but 4-6 otherwise. Howell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Duprey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. He is becoming a predictor of Chazy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Oliver Ringer, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Looking ahead, Northern Adirondack will face off against Beekmantown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Chazy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crown Point at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
