Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Patrick Henry can now relate to. They lost 56-30 to the Courtland Cougars on Monday. The Patriots lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in February of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 60-56 score last time.

Rj Magee was the offensive standout of the match as he en route to 12 points and eight boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Brooks, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Patrick Henry has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. The victory (which was Courtland's 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Patrick Henry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Courtland, they have already played their next contest, a 72-63 loss against Monacan on the 25th.
