Preview: Scott Skyhawks vs. Winfield Generals
Scott is 0-7 against Winfield since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Scott Skyhawks will head out on the road to take on the Winfield Generals at 2:00 p.m. Scott is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
On Thursday, Scott suffered a rough 68-48 loss at the hands of Chapmanville Regional.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Winfield, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-39 loss to St. Albans on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Winfield in their matchups with St. Albans: they've now lost three in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ashlee Johnson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Cole, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Scott has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Winfield, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Things could have been worse for Scott, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-42 loss to Winfield when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Scott, Meghan Taylor (who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
