Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Three Rivers' 15th in Last 16 Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Three Rivers walked away with it. They blew past the Kaufer Seahawks 8-2 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Lathan Meyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Xavier Carranza, who went 3-for-4 with six stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Evin Sheppard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Three Rivers has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Kaufer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

As of now, neither Three Rivers nor the Seahawks have any future games scheduled.
