Basketball Recap: Knightstown Piles Up the Points Against Southwestern

Knightstown hadn't done well against Southwestern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Knightstown Panthers claimed a resounding 60-32 victory over the Southwestern Spartans. That looming 60-32 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

Knightstown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lilly Drew, who went 10 for 19 on her way to 21 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Roberson, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

When it comes to explaining why Southwestern lost, don't look at Tanna Tatlock. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. That was a full 53.1% of Southwestern's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Knightstown now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Southwestern, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightstown will host Blue River Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blue River Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Southwestern, they will face off against Triton Central at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
