Basketball Recap: Belmont's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Belmont needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Dayvion Porter. The Belmont Bison walked away with a 68-56 victory over the Ponitz Career Tech Golden Panthers on Tuesday thanks in part to Porter, who almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Maddickes, who went 6 for 13 en route to 14 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last six games he's played.

Belmont's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Ponitz Career Tech, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Belmont has already played their next game, a 72-41 loss against Trotwood-Madison on the 11th. As for Ponitz Career Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 77-55 defeat against Stivers School for the Arts on the 14th.
