Basketball Recap: Augusta Takes a Loss

Augusta lost against McPherson back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Augusta Orioles took a blow against the McPherson Bullpups, falling 66-37. While losing is never fun, the Orioles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Bullpups are ranked 22nd).

Augusta has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for McPherson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Augusta and El Dorado will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. El Dorado has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for McPherson, they will head out to square off against Hays at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
