Basketball Game Preview: Red Cloud Warriors vs. Shelton Bulldogs

Red Cloud hasn't had much luck against Shelton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Red Cloud Warriors will head out to square off against the Shelton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Red Cloud came up short against Wilcox-Hildreth and fell 42-32.

Despite the defeat, Red Cloud saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aiva Rust posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Rust, who scored six points.

Meanwhile, Shelton waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 56-19 win over the Raiders. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 31 points or more this season.

Shelton's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Red Cloud, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Red Cloud came up short against Shelton when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 52-44. Can Red Cloud avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
