Softball Game Preview: Harvard Hornets vs. Woodstock North Thunder

The Harvard Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the Woodstock North Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Monday just wasn't the day for Harvard's offense. They fell 3-0 to Sandwich on Monday. The Hornets' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Woodstock North earned a 5-2 win over Johnsburg on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Thunder in their matchups with the Skyhawks: they've now won six in a row.

Woodstock North secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Emma Enot, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Maddie Nordahl, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Woodstock North hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Johnsburg struck out 11 times.

Harvard's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Woodstock North, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Harvard came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodstock North when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
