Basketball Recap: Coginchaug Regional Falls to Lyman Hall in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Coginchaug Regional had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 50-33 bruising from the Lyman Hall Trojans. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Coginchaug Regional's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Smolley, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Watson, who posted 12 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coginchaug Regional and Old Saybrook will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lyman Hall, they will head out to challenge North Branford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
