            Latin is 8-1 against Lake Forest Academy since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Romans will look to defend their home field  against the Caxys  at 4:30  p.m. The timing is sure in Latin's favor as the  team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Lake Forest Academy has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Latin barely beat Northridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Romans blew past the Knights 11-4 on Monday. Considering the Romans have won five contests by more than six  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.

 Drew Lufrano was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Lufrano was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances with three  RBI. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  hits (three).
 Lufrano wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jackson Darke, who  got on base  in three of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Lake Forest hit Lake Forest Academy with a six-run fourth inning  on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Caxys lost  13-3 to the Scouts.
 Latin is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Lake Forest Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
 Everything went Latin's way against Lake Forest Academy when the teams last played  on April 8th, as Latin made off with  an  11-1 win. Will the Romans repeat their success,  or do  the Caxys have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
