Football Recap: DeSoto County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

DeSoto County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were beaten by the Southeast Seminoles 42-0. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 533rd, while the Seminoles are ranked 231st).

Jacob Tanner threw for 35 yards on four of 16 attempts. On the ground, Elijah Johnson rushed for 37 yards.

As for Southeast, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.8 points on average over those games.

Liam Fernandez had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 143 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punching in one rushing score.

DeSoto County has already played their next contest, a 36-0 loss against Mulberry on the 10th. As for Southeast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 28-14 defeat against Osceola on the 10th.
