Soccer Game Preview: Lake Forest vs. Caesar Rodney

Lake Forest hasn't had much luck against Caesar Rodney recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Riders at 5:30 p.m. Lake Forest's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Caesar Rodney's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Meanwhile, Caesar Rodney faced Cape Henlopen in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Riders walked away with a 2-0 win over the Vikings. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Caesar Rodney.

Lake Forest's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Caesar Rodney, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Lake Forest might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Caesar Rodney in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
