Basketball Recap: Woodland's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

Woodland lost a heartbreaker to Jones County when they met back in February of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. The Woodland Wolfpack took a hard 50-34 fall against the Jones County Greyhounds. The Wolfpack's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Woodland still got an impressive performance from Jada Little, who posted 19 points. With that strong performance, Little is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Lauren Blount was another key player, putting up eight points.

It was another big night for Kamiyah Adams, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds for Jones County. The dominant performance gave Adams a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Anderson, who scored nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Woodland's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Jones County, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Woodland has already played their next matchup, a 57-56 win against Ola on the 28th. As for Jones County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 88-22 victory against Hampton on the 28th.
