Softball Recap: Hammond Central Has No Trouble Against Lake Station Edison

Hammond Central won the last time they faced Lake Station Edison and things went their way on Friday too. The Wolves blew past the Fighting Eagles 14-3.

Neveena Funches and Prisilla Cornejo did most of the damage at the plate: Funches went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Cornejo went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Cornejo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenda Arredondo, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Hammond Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive contests.
