Midlothian picks up 11th straight win at home

The Midlothian Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-47 victory over Midlothian Heritage. That's another feather in the cap for Midlothian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Leading Midlothian to victory were Jacob Almodovar and Alex Gilmore. Almodovar scored 23 points along with five rebounds, while Gilmore dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Caleb Ricks was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 16-8 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Midlothian Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Midlothian will head out on the road to face off against Mansfield Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Midlothian Heritage, they will be playing at home against Burleson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Burleson and Midlothian Heritage are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
