Baseball Game Preview: Lakeland Vikings vs. Fordland Eagles

The Lakeland Vikings will head out to face off against the Fordland Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lakeland's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Lincoln as they made off with a 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fordland). Everything went their way against Bradleyville on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-3 win. Fordland hasn't had any issues with Bradleyville recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Lakeland pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fordland, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
