Softball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

After soaring to 19 runs the game before, Clinton was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They came up short against the Northwest Rankin Cougars, falling 9-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on March 1st.

Makenzie Cooley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Clinton dropped their record down to 8-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Northwest Rankin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Coincidentally, Clinton and Northwest Rankin will both be playing DeSoto Central the next time they take the field. Clinton will head out to face DeSoto Central at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Northwest Rankin will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
