Basketball Game Preview: Leakey Eagles vs. Comstock Panthers

Leakey is a perfect 8-0 against Comstock since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Leakey will be strutting in after a win while Comstock will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Leakey made easy work of Utopia and carried off a 60-38 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Comstock was beaten by Rocksprings 51-19 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Angoras: they've now lost nine in a row.

Leakey's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points over those games. As for Comstock, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7-1.

Everything came up roses for Leakey against Comstock when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 68-22 win. In that matchup, the Eagles amassed a halftime lead of 25-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
