Baseball Recap: Covington Wins Going Away Against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent

Covington was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on Saturday. The Covington Owls were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over Non Varsity Tournament Opponent.

The result came thanks to Ty Johnson's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Jeremiah Cunningham was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joseph Vierra, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one triple.

Covington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Covington now has a winning record of 2-1-1.
