Basketball Game Preview: Silas Rams vs. Timberline Blazers

The Silas Rams will head out to square off against the Timberline Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silas knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Timberline likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Silas was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-55 to Bellarmine Prep. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Lions are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Timberline was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Capital 81-34. The game marked the Blazers' most dominant win of the season.

Timberline's win came from a few key players Silas will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kenyon Simmons, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 boards. Those 17 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Josh Tichenor was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points along with seven steals and six assists.

Timberline smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matchups.

Timberline is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Silas, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

Silas lost to Timberline on the road by a decisive 66-51 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Silas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
