Basketball Recap: Lakewood Park Christian Find Success

Bethany Christian came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Lakewood Park Christian, but Avery MacFarlane wouldn't allow it. The Lakewood Park Christian Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 victory over the Bethany Christian Bruins on Friday which was due in part to MacFarlane, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Lakewood Park Christian's points.

Noah Carnahan also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in boards (nine).

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zane Parson, who posted 11 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Parson is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Ayden Falcon, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Lakewood Park Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Bethany Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

Lakewood Park Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 36-35 victory against Fort Wayne Canterbury on the 8th. Bethany Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
