Montgomery County wins going away against North Callaway

Recap: Montgomery County Wildcats vs. North Callaway Thunderbirds

The Montgomery County Wildcats won against the North Callaway Thunderbirds last Thursday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Montgomery County took down North Callaway 61-45. Given Montgomery County's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while North Callaway is ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why North Callaway lost, one person who can't be blamed is Natalie Shryock. Despite the final result, she scored 26 points. Another player making a difference was Riley Blevins, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two blocks.

The victory (which was Montgomery County's third in a row) raised their record to 13-1. As for North Callaway, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Montgomery County will be playing in front of their home fans against Bowling Green at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowling Green is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for North Callaway, they will head out on the road to face off against Fayette at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Oakleigh Hill and Blevins.
