Softball Recap: Hamilton Huskies vs. Desert Ridge Jaguars
Hamilton has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They fell 13-9 to the Desert Ridge Jaguars. Even though they lost, the Huskies' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Jazmin Ramirez put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Taylor Hampton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Bassett, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Hamilton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
