Volleyball Game Preview: Des Moines Demons vs. Maxwell Bears

The Des Moines Demons will square off against the Maxwell Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Des Moines is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Des Moines barely beat Cimarron the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Demons blew past the Rams 3-0 on Saturday.

Des Moines' got stronger as the match went on, holding Cimarron to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-6.

Meanwhile, Maxwell came up short against Springer on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Bears have struggled against the Red Devils recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-19, 25-11.

Maxwell now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Des Moines, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Des Moines came out on top in a nail-biter against Maxwell when the teams last played back in November of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Demons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
