Softball Recap: Vestaburg Continues Road Dominance on Monday

While Vestaburg's win against Merrill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolverines narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Vandals 3-1. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Vandals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Addison Neelis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emma Myers was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Vestaburg pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Merrill, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-6.

Vestaburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vandals: the pair will be back at it again later today.
