Basketball Game Preview: Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions vs. Covenant Christian Academy Golden Eagles

The Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions will venture away from home to face off against the Covenant Christian Academy Golden Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.

Northern Virginia HomeSchool came up short against Spirit HomeSchool on Saturday, falling 72-48.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Covenant Christian Academy faced off against Ad Fontes Academy on Friday. Covenant Christian Academy snuck past Ad Fontes Academy with a 41-37 victory. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Covenant Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Northern Virginia HomeSchool will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryan Candland, who posted 20 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Covenant Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Alibaruho, who had 12 points.

Covenant Christian Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points over those games. As for Northern Virginia HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Northern Virginia HomeSchool barely slipped by Covenant Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 47-46.
