Baseball Game Preview: McDonald Blue Devils vs. Mineral Ridge Rams

McDonald fell victim to Mineral Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Blue Devils' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

For Mineral Ridge's part, the result came thanks to Xavier Klamer's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. Klamer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dom Balestrino, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Harding, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
