The Cate Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Chadwick Dolphins at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

While Rams fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Saturday's season opener. They enjoyed a cozy 40-21 victory over Valley Christian Academy back in August.

Cate's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quinn Pullen, who rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 44 yards and a touchdown. The bulk of thoserushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 56 yards. Joba Samsom was in the mix as well, providing Cate with three touchdowns.

Another reason for the win was Cate's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Valley Christian Academy's QB won't forget Henry Bouma anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Cate got some further help from Barron Crayton: he forced two fumbles and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Chadwick beat St. Joseph Academy 34-30 on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chadwick to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryson Edgar, who threw for 139 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 78 yards on only ten carries. The dominant performance gave Edgar a new career-high in rushing yards.

Chadwick wouldn't let St. Joseph Academy keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Chadwick can thank Chet Major and Asher Goldberg for forcing both of them. Another thorn in St. Joseph Academy's side was Michael Schnabel, who picked up a sack and made 16 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Cate came up short against Chadwick in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, falling 27-18. Can Cate avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
