Volleyball Recap: Piper Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Piper was the 3-0 winner over Taravella when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bengals took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans on Thursday. Bengals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Trojans since Thursday.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Taravella scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21.

Isabella Delgado paced Piper's offense, picking up 15 kills. Delgado got some help from Auria Paul and her 27 assists. Jayana Del Re controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Daniela Guarin was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 15 digs and two aces. Makayla Smith also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Piper's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Taravella, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-7.

Piper didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Coral Springs on the 29th. As for Taravella, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Hollywood Hills on the 29th.
