Flour Bluff can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Carroll 54-27 on the road. Given Flour Bluff's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Carroll is ranked 812th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Corpus Christi Moody, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-35 loss to Carroll on Tuesday.
Despite the defeat, Corpus Christi Moody had strong showings from Audrey Torres, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals, and Raelene Avalos, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Torres is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.
Flour Bluff is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Corpus Christi Moody, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
