Softball Recap: Patterson Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Patterson can now relate to. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Merced Bears on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in February.

Patterson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Zavala, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Olivia Dallimore also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Patterson dropped their record down to 10-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Merced, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-4-1.

Patterson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Merced, they will square off against Ponderosa at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight.
