Raft River faced Butte County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Trojans blew past the Pirates 36-12. Considering the Trojans have won four contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Raft River was led to victory by Treyce Ward and McCoy Spencer. Ward rushed for 100 yards and two scores, while Spencer rushed for 152 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teagan Babcock, who rushed for 128 yards.

Raft River's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games. As for Butte County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raft River will square off against Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Butte County, they will take on Hagerman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Butte County will need to watch out since Hagerman has now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
