Basketball Game Preview: Pittsburg Pirates vs. Antioch Panthers

The Pittsburg Pirates will square off against the Antioch Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Pittsburg is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Amador Valley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dons. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Dons are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, Antioch also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Heritage by a score of 58-47.

Antioch's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Pittsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Everything came up roses for Pittsburg against Antioch in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured an 87-54 win. Does Pittsburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Antioch turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
