Basketball Recap: Tempe Prep Triumphs

Santa Cruz Valley came into Friday's game looking for another win against Tempe Prep, but Matt Milner wouldn't allow it. The Knights simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Dust Devils 73-44 for which the team can thank Milner, who shot 47% from the field en route to 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. He also grabbed six steals, which is notable because Tempe Prep is 5-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 2-9 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Zach Stevens, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 12 points and six boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Tempe Prep's record now sits at 7-10. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Tempe Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-39 loss against Phoenix Country Day on the 2nd. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 72-63 victory against Miami on the 4th.
