Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Colonial Christian). They snuck past the Redland Christian Academy FALCONS with a 67-61 victory on Monday. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 69-39 loss the last time these two teams met.

Colonial Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Valino, who went 13 of 27 on his way to 31 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Valino has scored at least a third of Colonial Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aristides Espinosa, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds.

Colonial Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Redland Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Prince Howell, Jr, who posted 26 points. Another player making a difference was Schlendi Beauvois, who had nine points.

Colonial Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Redland Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Colonial Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Redland Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 103-11 loss against Mater Bay Academy on the 11th.
