Basketball Recap: Archbishop Shaw Falls to Madison Prep Academy in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Archbishop Shaw had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 80-73 to Madison Prep Academy. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Madison Prep Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

When it comes to explaining why Archbishop Shaw lost, don't look at Christian Clair. Despite the final result, he shot 57% from beyond the arc on his way to 42 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Phanuel Greer, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 17 points and six rebounds.

Looking ahead, Archbishop Shaw will venture away from home to square off against East St. John at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Madison Prep Academy, they will square off against Grand Prairie at 7:10 p.m. on the 28th.
