Football Recap: Petal Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Petal can now relate to. They were dealt a 45-10 defeat at the hands of the Gulfport Admirals on Friday. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-10.

Gulfport's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cooper Crosby, who rushed for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Crosby has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last nine times he's played. Parker Nettles was another key signal caller, throwing for 206 yards and two TDs on only 16 passes.

Petal's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Gulfport, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Petal does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gulfport, they will square off against Brandon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
