Recap: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Rock Creek Academy Lions
The Orleans Bulldogs waltzed into their contest Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They secured a 55-50 W over Rock Creek Academy. Given Orleans' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Rock Creek Academy is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Orleans' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Callie Alston, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Mylie Knight was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Orleans pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Rock Creek Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orleans will take on North Daviess at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Daviess has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2. Rock Creek Academy will finish 2023 at home by hosting Shoals at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
