Baseball Recap: Eastlake Takes a Loss

Eastlake and Rancho Bernardo squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Eastlake had to settle for second. They fell 8-5 to the Broncos. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Eastlake got a good showing from Max Tello, who struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Austin Stroberg stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Zowen Watson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Eastlake's loss dropped their record down to 21-11-1. As for Rancho Bernardo, they pushed their record up to 20-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Eastlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rancho Bernardo, they will square off against Point Loma at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last five games the Pointers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
