Nic Angerstein commands the offense for Indians win

Recap: Sacred Heart Indians vs. Bracken Christian Warriors

Even though the Bracken Christian Warriors scored an imposing 78 points on Tuesday, the Sacred Heart Indians still came out on top. Sacred Heart skirted past the Warriors 81-78. This was payback for Sacred Heart, who suffered a 82-76 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Sacred Heart's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nic Angerstein, who dropped a triple-double on 26 points, ten rebounds, and 11 steals. Angerstein is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Andrew Steffek was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Cruz, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Parsons, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Sacred Heart is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season. As for Bracken Christian, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 25-7.

Sacred Heart will take on the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Paul is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Bracken Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Juan Diego Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully the Warriors likes a good challenge.
