Soccer Game Preview: Irmo vs. Dreher

The Irmo Yellow Jackets will challenge the Dreher Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Dreher heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Irmo took over last week. The Yellow Jackets walked away with a 3-1 victory over Summerville on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Irmo.

Meanwhile, Dreher waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Give Dreher's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Dreher pushed their record up to 8-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Irmo, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Irmo might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Dreher in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
