Volleyball Recap: Acadiana Home School Athletics Takes Down Ranked Southwest Louisiana Homeschool

Acadiana Home School Athletics faced Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Commandos skirted past Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool 3-2. The Commandos haven't had any issues with Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Acadiana Home School Athletics took Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-13, 25-20, 15-25, 15-13.

Acadiana Home School Athletics' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leo Mader, who had 13 kills, four aces, and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Mader a new career-high in assists (four). Elijah Chopin was another key player, getting 14 assists and five aces.

They weren't the only good server: Acadiana Home School Athletics was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive games.

Acadiana Home School Athletics' win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Acadiana Home School Athletics and Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will both be playing Lake Area HomeSchool Sports the next time they take the court. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will head out to face the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Commandos will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
