Baseball Recap: George County Takes a Loss

George County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 6-1 to the Catholic Bears. The game marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Preston McAdory was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, George County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayler Havard, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

George County now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Coming up, George County will host Germantown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Catholic, they will face off against Presbyterian Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Presbyterian Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
