Basketball Recap: Lakin Gets the Win

The third road game was the charm for Lakin, as they earned their first road win of the season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 win over the Stanton County Trojans on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Broncs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Stanton County still got an impressive performance from Avery Scott, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 20 rebounds. Scott is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jerzey Ochoa, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Lakin now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Stanton County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Lakin will take on Elkhart at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stanton County, they will head out on the road to challenge Deerfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
