Volleyball Recap: Troy-Buchanan Comes Up Short

Troy-Buchanan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Howell Vikings, falling 3-0. The Trojans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

While Troy-Buchanan was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Howell's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-14, 25-16.

Austin Smith was the offensive standout of the matchup as he had five digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (five).

Troy-Buchanan's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Howell, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Troy-Buchanan will host Westminster Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Howell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Fort Zumwalt West on the 3rd.
