Baseball Recap: Gretna East Gets the Win

Gretna East won the last time they faced Elkhorn and things went their way on Monday too. Gretna East came out on top in a nail-biter against Elkhorn, sneaking past 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Griffins.

Chase Neneman tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Easton Leahy, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Green, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Gretna East's record now sits at 2-0. As for Elkhorn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gretna East is set to face off against their familiar foe Pius X at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Elkhorn will take on rival Platte Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
